Boxer Puppies from
|
19/12/07 - The weaning was going very well with the puppies not feeding from Mum for two days. However yesterday Finn, (aka The Milk Missile) managed to sneak two feeds when I was moving pups between pens and Memphis jumped in to be with him. Now she's full of milk and she has to start dryng up all over again!
10/12/07 - It was a big outing for the puppies today, to the vet. They all had their vaccinations and microchips done. The vet inspected each one closely and they are in super shape!
05/12/07 - All the babies got to go to puppy daycare today (they spent the afternoon at "Grandma's" house) which gave me a chance to renovate their pen. As they get older their interest in exploring increases so they need to spread out. Their inside pen is now triple the size and it probably won't be long until it takes over the room. Memphis loves it with more space because she can hop in to play with them. (Lying sphinx style to carefully conceal her undercarriage.)
02/12/07 - Today the puppies had their first car ride since they were tiny babies. The following photo is of them arriving fresh at their destination ready to cause some havoc. They will now be going for little car rides at least every second day to help prepare them for when they leave for new homes. So far no complaints from them.
01/12/07 - We now have a puppy Webcam especially for all the waiting mums and dads to view the puppies. It runs for several hours a day and follows the puppies around the house and outside. This is the first Boxer-Cam in New Zealand!
28/11/07 - Since the puppies have decided they are ready for exploration I gave them some outside time today. They sniffed around the pen for 10 minutes then went to sleep!
25/11/07 - ESCAPE! Today I brushed the cobwebs off Sophie and took her to a show. I thought that while we were out it would be nice for Memphis to have the run of the house and just be able to hop in and out of the puppy pen when she wanted. I erected a barrier that was lower than the rest of the 3 foot high pen so she could easily hop over. When I arrived home I discovered she wasn't the only one that could hop in and out! There were puppies through the whole house and several had made their way to my bedroom and put themselves to bed.
20/11/07 - The puppies have started trying out solid food and are very impressed with it. Danni has won the competition to be the first puppy to escape the whelping box, as her prize I raised the height of the front panel. Fonzie is still the speedy puppy and runs rings round the others. Horatio can usually be found on his back with legs in the air and when there is a bit of rough and tumble Donut is always in the middle of it!! Aust Ch Ronin Memphis Meltdown (Imp NZ) (nicknamed Magnum) was not the most skilled at feeding from his mum but is a greedy little expert with solid food.
02/11/07 - Everyone is doing really well. Memphis is a great mum and all the pups are growing heaps.
30/10/07 - The pups arrived over two days with the last one arriving by c-section at 2am! Their birth weights ranged from about 450grams to 500grams so they are evenly sized and big.
